ORLENE'S STORY

LOCKDOWN STARTUP, TO MILTON, TO CAMBRIDGE

We are mother and son duo, Orlene and Leon, with Leon returning from a period in the USA we felt it would be nice to pick up cooking together just as we had done throughout Leon's childhood, experimenting with American flavours fusing in with our traditional Caribbean classics -  and so Orlene's kitchen was born.

Starting as a lockdown takeaway service, we expanded into catering for events, before moving into a kitchen in Milton where we were able to offer the community a takeaway and delivery service.

Wishing to expand further into Cambridge for some time when we found out about a space at the iconic Guildhall we knew we had found our new HQ.

​

Having this iconic Central Cambridge venue as our HQ we want to marry our love and family backgrounds in music into Orlene's Kitchen Cafe, planning to host regular pop up evenings bringing the best local Cambridge talent to Orlene's.

We are proud to be working in partnership with Allia Future Business Centre at Cambridge Guildhall.
